Norman Jordan (1938-2015) was one of West Virginia's best know and most distinguished African-American poets of his era. He was born in Ansted, West Virginia, but moved to Cleveland as a youth. He returned to Anstead in 1977 and earned a degree in theater from WVU. His masters was from Ohio State in African-American Studies. His poems have appeared in more than 40 poetry anthologies.
