This is the first book published by James Still (1906-2001) and still one of the best-loved and most sought-after Appalachian poetry books. The last poem in this collection, "Heritage" is as emblematic of our region as any. There are no collector's copies on line, and inferior copies are priced almost as much as this copy I am offering for sale.
New York, Viking Press, 1937. 55 pages. Hardback in dust jacket.
