Glen Taylor is a rising star among West Virginia writers. His very first novel, The Ballad of Trenchmouth Taggart was a finalist for the 2009 National Book Critics Circle Award - quite an impressive start! Taylor grew up in Huntington and this book is set in the hills south of that city and was inspired and informed by the memoir of the War on Poverty days there as experienced by another Huntingtonian, Huey Perry, and his book, They'll Cut Off Your Project.
