This book by a British academic geographer puts the ARC in the context of both the region and the government. It covers the ARC closely from its beginnings in 1965 during the Lyndon Johnson Presidency, through Nixon, Ford, Carter and through the Reagan Administration ending in 1989. At the time the book was published, the author, Michael Bradshaw was a professor at the College of St. Mark and St. John in Plymouth, England. He retired from there after 22 years, but has recently co-authored the 4th edition of  Contemporary Regional World Geography His Master and his Doctorate are from Canadian Universities.
