This is a really handy book for lovers of the Western North Carolina and North Georgia Mountains to enjoy. It is not a guide book, but rather takes twelve areas and provides a topographical map and lots of specifications and an enjoyable essay about each area. There are full-color and black-and-white photos as well. The author has a Ph.D. from the University of Georgia and lives near Walhalla, South Carolina.
