The un-named editors explain the title as equivalent to Cookin, Healin' and Gossipin'. This is a two-volume set of spiral bound books. Fascination, not organization, is the key to these good-looking and thorough books. Here you will find many endearing photographs and gobs of enjoyable writing in no particular order and not always attributed to sources. This is just the book for you to keep or give IF you like your recipes and old-fashioned remedies spiced up with "rumors" such as a clipping entitled, "Cades Cove Man in Hand Fight with Big Panther" or the admonition- unattributed - that cast iron skillets be "not washed every time." Cades Cove is one of the most beautiful places on God's green earth, and you cannot ask for a better keepsake to remember a trip to this treasured corner of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. On line the only two-volume set offered today runs $195, but the Association website (which is my only source for the publication date and place) offers them for $38.
Maryville, Tennessee: Cades Cove Preservation Association, 2002. 610 numbered pages in the two volumes and then some with ample illustrations and photos. Spiral bound paperbacks.
