This is such a perfect coffee-table book. And it is simply signed, not inscribed, by both George, who wrote the essays on the flora and fauna of the Smokies and Elizabeth who did the paintings. Beautiful but also quite substantive. George and Elizabeth Ellison have carved out an enviable life-style for themselves on a homestead they have nurtured that shares a boundary with the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. Elizabeth has a studio in nearby Bryson City, North Carolina, and George has led wildflower walks, written introductions to books and found various ways to earn a living while sharing his vast knowledge of the Smokies.
